Vellum & Razor Blades helps owner, design, and contractor firms take control of delivery. If your team runs 50–300 people, juggles multiple active projects, and knows that BIM standards on paper haven’t translated to BIM standards in practice — V&RB was built for you. We work with the accountable delivery lead: the person who owns the outcome when coordination fails, timelines slip, and reputations are on the line.
Most firms don’t have a delivery problem — they have a governance problem. Projects start without clear LOD strategies. Teams over-model or under-deliver. Coordination runs on pressure instead of control. The tools exist, but without a system to connect scope, standards, and accountability, every project becomes a firefight.
The Razor Method is V&RB’s answer: a practical, embedded system that turns delivery governance from an afterthought into an advantage. It works inside the tools your team already uses and under the deadlines you already face. Explore the Razor Method →
V&RB is led by Rick Aspin — over 30 years across four countries, spanning architectural design, BIM leadership, VDC management, and digital delivery strategy. Rick has built and rebuilt delivery frameworks for firms that needed more than a new tool — they needed a new way of working. View Rick’s full career →
The name is a nod to where it all started. When Rick began his career, vellum was the drawing surface and razor blades were the erasers. You designed in pencil, sealed it in ink, and if something changed, you scratched the surface clean with a blade and started again. There was no undo button — planning was everything. That discipline runs through every part of V&RB today.
